Complete Pediatric Dental Service in Mirdif
Everything Your Child Needs Under One Roof
Preventive Care – Stop Problems Before They Start
Regular check-ups every 6 months catch issues early—when they’re simple and affordable to fix. Our preventive services include professional cleanings, fluoride varnish applications (recommended by the AAPD to strengthen enamel), and dental sealants that prevent up to 80% of cavities on molars.
First Dental Visit (From Age 1)
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children see a dentist by their first birthday—or within 6 months of their first tooth. Early visits establish a “dental home” and help us catch developmental issues before they become problems. Children who visit by age 1 have 40% lower dental costs in their first 5 years.

What To Expect At Your Child’s Visit
The Dr. Paul’s Experience – Step by Step
Step 1: Warm Welcome
No sterile waiting rooms here. Your child enters an environment designed for kids—colorful, friendly, and reassuring. Our team greets them by name and lets them settle in at their own pace.
Step 2: Getting Comfortable
For first visits, we never rush to the chair. Your child can explore the room, meet the dentist, see the “cool tools,” and ask questions. We use Tell-Show-Do: explaining what we’ll do, demonstrating on a puppet or their finger, then—only when they’re ready—doing it.
Step 3: Gentle Examination
Using child-sized instruments and a gentle touch, we examine your child’s teeth, gums, and bite. Low-radiation digital X-rays (when needed) reveal what we can’t see. We show you everything on-screen and explain it in plain language.

Dental Tips For Mirdif Parents
How to Prepare Your Child for Their First Visit
Keep It Positive
Never use the dentist as a threat. Avoid phrases like “if you don’t brush, the dentist will…” Instead, talk about the dentist as a friendly helper who keeps smiles healthy.
Read Books About Dental Visits
Children’s books about visiting the dentist help normalize the experience. Let them know what to expect in a fun, non-threatening way.
Play Dentist at Home
Use a toothbrush to “examine” stuffed animals’ teeth. Let your child be the dentist. Familiarity reduces fear.

FAQs
Pediatric Dental Care in Mirdif
When should my child first see the dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends scheduling your child’s first dental visit within 6 months of their first tooth appearing, or by their first birthday—whichever comes first. Early visits establish a “dental home,” catch potential problems early, and help your child get comfortable with dental care before treatment is ever needed.
How often should my child visit the dentist?
Every 6 months for routine check-ups and professional cleanings. Children at higher risk for cavities (history of decay, certain medications, special dietary needs) may need visits every 3 months.
What’s the difference between a pediatric dentist and a regular dentist?
Pediatric dentists complete 2-3 additional years of specialized residency training after dental school, focusing exclusively on children’s oral health, growth and development, and behavior management. We use child-sized instruments, child-friendly language, and techniques designed specifically for young patients—from infants through teenagers, including children with special needs.
My child is terrified of the dentist. How can you help?
This is our specialty. We use proven techniques like Tell-Show-Do (explaining, demonstrating, then performing each step), distraction methods, positive reinforcement, and a patient approach that never forces your child. For children with severe anxiety, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, or general anesthesia coordination. We’ve helped children who refused to open their mouths become enthusiastic dental visitors.
What sedation options do you offer for children?
We offer a spectrum of options based on your child’s needs. Nitrous oxide provides mild relaxation while keeping your child fully awake.
Are baby teeth really important? They fall out anyway.
Absolutely. Baby teeth hold space for permanent teeth—losing them early can cause crowding and orthodontic problems. They’re essential for proper chewing, speech development, and self-confidence. Infections in baby teeth can damage developing permanent teeth beneath them. Healthy baby teeth set the foundation for a lifetime of oral health.
What are dental sealants and does my child need them?
Sealants are thin protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars), where 90% of cavities occur. They fill the tiny grooves where food and bacteria hide, preventing up to 80% of cavities. We recommend sealants when first molars appear (around age 6) and again when second molars erupt (around age 12). The application is quick, painless, and requires no drilling.
What is a pulpotomy?
A pulpotomy is sometimes called a “baby root canal,” but it’s actually less invasive. When decay reaches the pulp (nerve) inside a baby tooth, Pulpotomy removes pulp from the coronal portion of tooth But if the decay had spread to root also we remove the pulp from the root portion also so it’s better to say pediatric pulpal therapy or root canal
How do I prevent baby bottle tooth decay?
Never put your child to bed with a bottle containing anything but water. Milk, formula, and juice contain sugars that pool around teeth overnight, causing rapid decay. Clean your baby’s gums after feeding even before teeth appear. Wean from bottles to cups by age 1. Avoid dipping pacifiers in honey or sweeteners.
Is fluoride safe for my child?
Yes. When used appropriately, fluoride is safe and highly effective at strengthening enamel and preventing cavities. Professional fluoride varnish applied at dental visits poses no ingestion risk. For home care, use only a rice-grain-sized smear of fluoride toothpaste for children under 3, and a pea-sized amount for ages 3-6. We’ll provide guidance specific to your child’s needs.
How much does pediatric dental treatment cost in Dubai?
Costs vary by treatment. Consultations start from AED 250. Cleanings with fluoride start from AED 300. We always provide a complete cost breakdown before any treatment begins—no surprises. We accept most major insurance plans with direct billing and offer flexible payment options for uninsured families.
Do you accept insurance for pediatric visits?
Yes. We partner with major UAE insurance Bring your insurance card; we verify coverage on the spot.
What languages does your team speak?
Our team speaks English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, and Tagalog. We serve Mirdif’s diverse community comfortably.
Do you treat children with special needs?
Yes. Our pediatric specialists have training and experience treating children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorders, and other special needs. We adapt our approach to each child’s unique requirements and can coordinate hospital-based treatment under general anesthesia when needed.
Can I stay with my child during treatment?
Yes, for most procedures. We encourage parental presence, especially for anxious children or first visits. In some cases (particularly with older children or during sedation), we may recommend parents wait nearby—we’ll discuss what’s best for your child.
Is there parking available?
Yes. Free parking is available at Al Barajeel Oasis Complex directly outside our clinic.
